Above sea level or fossilized coral and below sea level marine coral. Both types have a great trace mineral base with the calcium. The marine collected coral calcium has a calcium magnesium content of about 2:1 which is what many experts claim is the proper ratio of calcium to magnesium. The land based or fossilized normally has a much higher content of calcium but a lower content of magnesium.

Coral calcium is made up of 74 minerals. Minerals are the most basic building blocks of nutrition. The foods grown in this day contain but a fraction of the mineral as they did a century ago. Even when these depleted foods are ingested, the body has a difficult time getting minerals into the blood streams. The end result is a mineral deficient population that is in need of bio-available minerals.

All minerals are important, especially the trace minerals, Every mineral has crucial role to play in the human anatomy. For every mineral, there are several other minerals that must be present and in turn, those minerals must have other minerals present, or the mineral will not do the job required by the human body.
